Gary Dewayne Kirby, age 54 of Somerset passed away on Monday March 10, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born on February 24, 1960 in Fayette Co. KY to the late Dewey and Mildred Blakeman Kirby.
Gary was of the Baptist faith and a farmer. He enjoyed yard work, fishing and loved the lake.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his fiance and caregiver, Gladys Wiggs of Somerset, KY. Two that were like sons, Phillip Wiggs of Somerset, KY and Robert Wiggs of Somerset, KY. Two who were like daughters, Beth Ann Whilcher of Nicholasville, KY and Christy Hope Whilcher of Nicholasville, KY. Five brothers, Ronnie (Karen Jo) Kirby of Lincoln Co. Ky, Mike Kirby of Garrard Co. KY, Phillip Kirby of Boyle Co. KY, Bennie (Karen Sue) Kirby of Garrard Co. KY and Jerry Kirby of Garrard Co. KY. Two sisters, Terry Sparks of Garrard Co. KY and Brenda (Dennis) Frodge of Covington, KY. Seven who were like grandchildren. Three nephews, Brian Keith of Louisville, KY, Brandon Stone of Pulaski, VA and Eddie Hinkle of Covington, KY. Two special nieces, Ashley Kirby and Leslie Kirby both of Garrard Co. KY. Three nieces, Melisa Kirby of Nicholasville, KY, Jessie Kirby of Nicholasville, KY, Michele Hinkle of Frankfort, Ky. and a great nephew, Jayden. Also survived by two uncles, Gene Kay Blakeman of Lexington, KY and Elderidge (Francis) Kirby of Lexington, KY.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday March 11, 2014 after 6pm at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 11am in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating.
Burial will be in the Alexander Chapel Cemetery.
