Kathy Beechboard Hughes, age 68, passed away at home on Thursday, March 20, 2025. Services will be held at Southern Oaks Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at 1:00pm with Bro. Alan Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, KY. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 1:00pm with a funeral service to begin at 1:00pm on Wednesday.

Kathy was born in Monticello, KY on September 27, 1956. She was one of seven children born to Leonard and Primrose Beechboard. Kathy was a 1974 graduate of Wayne County High School. She retired from Oakwood in Somerset, KY after decades of service.

She is survived by her son, Nicholas Hughes, his fiancé Chasity Iseral, and three grandchildren, Kaylean Parker, Caitlynn Parker and Cameron Hughes. Surviving family members, sisters: Patty Simpson and Joyce Haddix, brother, Ricky Beechboard, nieces: Shelly Simpson, Taylor Yancey and Deanna Clark and nephew, Seth Haddix.

Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Hughes, and her son Jimmy “JL” Hughes. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. They were such a blessing to her. She loved planting beautiful flowers around her home that she loved. Kathy was a devout Christian and gave her heart to the Lord many years ago. Her faith sustained her over the years with her on-going medical issues and struggles.
