Ruth Alice Jasper Jeffers, age 67 of Nancy, KY passed away Monday January 27, 2014 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on January 4, 1947 in the Slate Branch Community to the late George Galen and Clara Vaughn Jasper.
Ruth was a member of Slate Branch Baptist Church and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved life to the fullest, loved people, never met a stranger and enjoyed softball, bowling and was an avid Rook player. Ruth was also Co-Owner and Operator and Vice President of Cumberland Service Exterminators and Co-Owner and Vice President of Quest Community Services. She was also Co-Owner and Operator of numerous other enterprises.
She is preceded in death by her parents. Two sons, Michael Jeffers and Greg Jeffers, two brothers, Virgil Jasper and Gayland Jasper and one sister, Roberta Dykes.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Jeffers whom she married on August 20, 1977 at Denham Street Baptist Church. One son, Jeffrey Lynn Jeffers of Somerset, KY. Two daughters, Jasmine (Kevin) Fisher of Nancy, KY and Michaele Marx of Anchorage, Alaska. Two brothers, Clifford (Millie) Jasper of the Oak Hill Community and Jimmy (Michelle) Japser of Somerset, KY. Four sisters, Doris (Oscar Woods) Randall of Somerset, KY, Georgia Lou (Woody) Hunt of the Blaze Valley Community, Barbara (David) Burton of Somerset, KY and Arlene (Bert) Young of Somerset, KY. Grandchildren, Sean Jeffers, Natalie Jeffers, Destiny Fisher, Kaden Fisher, Jonathan Baker and Amber Lin Starder. Also surviving are five great-grandchildren, two aunts, Nora Jasper and Sylvia Jasper, two sister-in-laws, Nina Jasper and Norma Jasper and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday January 29, 2014 from 6pm-9pm in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday January 30, 2014 at 1pm in the Memory Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Muse and Bro. Jeff Griffith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be her nephews, Victor Jasper, Travis Rogers, Bryan Rogers, Cliff Jasper, Marty Hunt and Donovan Dykes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Troy Hunt, Kerry Cox and Roger Whitaker.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital.
