Barbara Minton Walters, age 73 of Nancy, KY passed away on Tuesday January 7, 2014 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
She was born on November 26, 1940 in Georgetown, Ohio to the late Ernest and Marie Cordray Brown.
Barbara was a retired seamstress and a member of the Carter Ridge Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Daisy Grace Minton.
She is survived by Jessie Walters, whom she married in 1992. One son, Michael (Kelly) Minton of Somerset, KY. Two daughters, Melinda (Randy) Wiles of Nancy, KY and Melissa Minton of Maytown, PA. One step-daughter, Charlena Barnett Goodpastor (Scott) of Bronston, Ky. One brother, Bobby Brown of Orab, OH. One sister, Debra Hoard of Science Hill, KY. Grandchildren, Cory Wiles, Lance (Samantha) Minton and Justin Minton. Great-grandchild, Conner Lee Minton. A nephew who was like a grandson, Jake Hoard of Science Hill, KY and a nephew Matt Brown of OH.
Visitation will be held on Friday January 10, 2014 after 6pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 1pm in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Roy officiating.
Burial will follow in the Carter Ridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
