Dorothy Kemper, age 96 of Somerset, KY and formerly of St. Louis, MO passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at her home.

She was born on April 28, 1917 in St. Louis, MO to the late Zivko and Vidosava Bolanovich Adzick.

Dorothy was a member of the John Calvin Presbyterian Church in Bridgeton, MO. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross and Missouri Veterans Home, an election judge official, member of the local garden club, Rainbow Widows Group and the Goldtimers at her church.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Merle E. Kemper Jr., whom she married on September 14, 1941 in St. Louis. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Pamela Jane Kemper. Also deceased are three brothers, Michael, Nick and John and two sisters, Betty and Mileva.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Dr. John R.) Smart of Somerset, KY and Barbara Kemper (Douglas C.) Stiles of Alexandria, VA, and one sister, Georgia Glogovac, of St. Louis, MO. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Kevin (April) Smart of Knoxville, TN, Ryan (Kelsey) Smart of Kansas City, MO, Kimberly Smart of Somerset, KY and Andrew Stiles of Alexandria,VA.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, at 2pm in the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel in St. Louis, MO with Rev. Dr. John R. Shear officiating.

Burial will take place in the Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the John Calvin Presbyterian Church Sanctuary Speaker Fund or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
