Lucille Mae Cundiff Age 83, of Somerset, Ky. passed away on Tuesday August 6, 2013 at her residence.
She was born on January 23, 1930 in Nancy, Ky., to the late Warren and Nellie Sumpter Dawes.
She was a retired seamstress for Palm Beach Co. and a member of the Democrat Women’s Club for many years and attended many conventions and 2 inaugurations, formerly served as Caney Fork Precinct Chairperson. An ancestor of the Lee’s of Virginia which came to Kentucky in 1787.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Tom Cundiff., from this union they were blessed with three sons, the late Roger Glen “Newt” Cundiff, Robert “Bob” (Freda) Cundiff, and Paul Cundiff all of Somerset, Ky. Also survived by her brothers, James Fulcher of Nancy, Ky. and Glen Dawes of Somerset, Ky. Four sisters, Lorraine Martin of Nancy, Ky., Winona “Honey” Harris of Somerset, Ky., Peggy Reesor of Nicholasville, Ky., and Rosemary Reeves of Irvin, Ky. Four Grandchildren and Fourteen Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son and two sisters, Nancy Massey and Betty Mounce. Also a special cousin John Prather Sr. and a very special friend Mrs. Margie Johns.
Family will receive friends Wednesday August 14, 2013 from 2pm-3pm at Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday August 14, 2013 at 3pm at Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Bullock officiating.
A private committal service will be held by the Cundiff family at the Souls Chapel Cemetery.
