Edward T. Phelps Age 81, of Carroll St. of Somerset, Ky. passed away Sunday May 26, 2013 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
He was born June 08, 1931 in the White Lilly Community to the late Macy and Mary Ellen Adams Phelps.
He was retired from Kingsford Charcoal and was of the Baptist Faith.
He is survived by his sons, Billy G. Thompson, Daniel Thompson and Stanley Thompson of Somerset, Ky. Daughters, Carolyn Phelps Dalton and Connie Phelps Saylor and Larry of Somerset, Ky. Grandchildren, Missy, Jimmy, Brittany, Patricia, Kyera, Tanner, Taylor, Jaylynn and Christian. Great grandchildren, Hunter, Keilynn, Keaton, Asia and Bailey.
A special friend that’s like a daughter, Michelle McAfee of Somerset, Ky.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Edith Sue Ridner Phelps, whom he married in Nov. 1953, his companion of many years, Betty Lou Thompson, his son, James “Jimmy” Edward Phelps, brothers, James, Lonnie, Luther, Arnold and Ellis Phelps. His sisters, Beulah Hines and Gertrude Randall.
Visitation will be held Tuesday May 28 2013 after 5pm at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home and after 8 am Wednesday.
Funeral Service Wednesday May 29, 2013 at 1pm with Bro. David Muse and Bro. David Hardin officiating.
Burial will follow in the White Lily Cemetery.
