Reverend Harold C. Taylor, born September 7, 1939, in Somerset, Kentucky to Delbert and Connie (Hammond) Taylor departed this life on March 9, 2013. He married Brenda ( Mitchell) Taylor December 22, 1973, and to this union were born 1 son; Christopher Taylor of Amherst, Ohio; daughter Jacquiline Taylor and her husband Scott of Somerset; grandson, Chandler, who was the apple of his eye!
Brother Taylor accepted the Lord as his his savior at the age of 17 at the Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was called to the ministry in 1977. He was the founding pastor of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Amherst, Ohio and pastored there for 33 years.He was currently the pastor at Old Fashion Faith Baptist Church in Somerset, Ky.
He loved Kentucky basketball and was a master mason in Oberlis, Oh. Bro. Taylor retired from General Motors – Fisher Body Division after 30 years of service on August 31, 1995. He graduated from Ferguson High School in 1958.
Bro. Harold Taylor is survived by his brother Lenard (Arlene) Taylor of Tateville, Ky; 3 sisters, Anna Perl McKee of Somerset, Della Dodson (Noel) of Somerset, Jeannie Taylor (Billy) of Somerset.
He was preceded in death by 3 brothers Roger, Freddie and Forrest Taylor,; 4 sisters Wanda Dykes, Ruby Taylor, Mildred Taylor and Laura Tucker.
A visitation will be held Sunday, March 31, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home in Somerset, Ky.
A funeral service was held on Monday April 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
