Ruth Lough, a resident of Somerset passed away on Monday, November 5th following a long illness. She was 91.
Born October 2, 1921 in Jersey, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Thurston and Helen Tharp.
She graduated from Pataskala High School and attended Ohio State University.
She did all the animal testing for Brucelous and Leptospirous for the Ohio Department of Agriculture for over 16 years.
After moving to Kentucky, she was an assistant manager selling Avon for many years.
She attended the First United Methodist Church in Somerset for over 20 years and was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Survivors include, a daughter, Linda and Odell Eastham of Somerset; two grandchildren, Derek (and Andrea) Eastham of Somerset, and Kristen (and Joe) Lyons of Somerset; three great grandchildren, Ashtyn Lyons, Chase and Calli Eastham all of Somerset; a sister, Judy Keyse, of Johnsontown, Ohio; and a sister in law, Harriet Briggs, of Pataskala, Ohio, along with a host of many friends.
She was preceeded in death by her husband, Bud Lough, whom she married, April 17, 1943 in Granvillie, Ohio; her parents, two sisters, Betty Morris and Patricia Ours and a foster son, Jimmy.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 after 6pm at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be Thursday, November 8, 2012 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
