Dennis Roscoe Shepherd, 55, of Somerset, Kentucky departed from this life on May 5, 2012 at his residence. Dennis was born on April 14, 1957 in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Roscoe and Doshie Calhoun Shepherd. Mr. Shepherd was a member of the Denham Street Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his fiancée Frances Richardson of Somerset, Kentucky; Three daughters, Jessica (and Norman) Mink of Somerset, Heather (and Alan) Nicklas of Somerset, Cristy Trabish of Somerset. One Step Son, Shawn Burdine of Somerset.
Three granddaughters, Sarah Burton, Bailey Mink, and Rilee Glover all of Somerset; One sister, Janie (and John) Sneed of Somerset; Two brothers, Don (and Ruth) Shepherd of Attica, Indiana, and Lloyd (and Betty) Shepherd of Somerset: Mr. Shepherd leaves behind several nieces and nephews including a special niece Renee (and Willie) Burton of Somerset. He also leaves behind three special friends Shirley Allen, Janice Trimble, and Melody Phelps all of Somerset.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by a stepson Wendell Burdine Jr.
Visitation for Mr. Shepherd will be Tuesday, May 08, 2012 after 6 p.m. at the Southern Oaks Funeral Home, 2110 West Highway 914, Somerset. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, May 09, 2012 at 10 a.m. at the chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Raymond Ridner officiating. Burial will be at the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
