Brett Jackson Cornett passed from this life on July 18, 2016, at his residence. He was 29 years old
Brett was born on September 12, 1986, to Jack Wayne Cornett and Cynthia West Cornett Robinson. Brett was a graduate of Western Kentucky University. He was a systems administrator for Blackboard, of Somerset. He enjoyed being outdoors; especially fishing. Brett loved to read. He loved spending time with his daughters. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his father, Jack Wayne (and Dee) Cornett, of Somerset; his mother, Cynthia Ann West Robinson (and Carrol Estes), of Somerset; his daughters, Bryn Cornett and Bristol Cornett, of Somerset; his significant other, Rebekah Smith, of Somerset; his brothers, Isaiah Cornett and Joshua Cornett, of Somerset; his sister, Lauren Cornett, of Somerset; his grandparents, Charles and Belle West, of Somerset, and Mary E. Cornett, of Somerset; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his dog, “Potato”
Preceding Brett in death is his grandfather, Red Cornett
Visitation will be held, Friday, July 22, 2016, at 4:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will follow the visitation on Friday, at 7:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Honorary pallbearers will be Isaiah Cornett, Joshua Cornett, Lauren Cornett, Tyler West, Jason Estes, Brandon Heath, Mike Hager, Jeff Phillips, Steve Jackson, Gary Ellington, Josh Flynn and Chris Stigall.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Brett’s daughter’s college funds.
Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
