Susan Burton, age 51, of the Slate Branch Community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at her residence. Born on December 29, 1974, in Fort Thomas, Kentucky, Susan was the daughter of Lowell Stout and Linda Crabtree Roberts.

A free spirit at heart, Susan had a love for exploring the world through her curiosity. Whether it was delving into various topics online or seeking out new interests, she always found joy in learning and discovery through her computer. She held steadfast to her Baptist faith and cherished the simple moments that life had to offer.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Lowell Stout; her brother, Steve Stout; and her stepfather, David Roberts.

She is survived by her loving mother, Linda Crabtree Roberts; her son, Chad (Shelby) Simpson of Nancy, Kentucky; her brothers, Clint (Lisa) Stout of Falmouth, Kentucky, and Mitchell (Amanda) Stout of Somerset, Kentucky; as well as her nieces, Jordyn Stout and Lauryn Stout, and nephew, Miles Stout; Along with numerous extended family members. 

In accordance with Susan’s wishes, the family has chosen cremation, and a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
