William Jones, age 65 of the Parkers Lake Community, passed from this life on Thursday, October 2nd 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
William was born on July 16th 1960 in Whitley City, Kentucky to the late Alex Lonzo Jones and Hazel Marie (Ridner) Jones. He was a devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, dancing, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by his parents, Lonzo and Hazel Jones; brothers, Don (Helen) Jones, Roy (Juanita) Jones, Ronnie (Tiny) Jones and David (Vonda) Jones; sisters, Louise (Hobbie) Rose, Lena (Clinton) Murphy and Amanda Jones. One deceased child, Donnie Jones; one deceased great-grandchild, Baylor Taylor, one deceased sister-in-law, Linda (JR) Ross, and one deceased brother-in-law, Ben Vanover.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 50 years, Jannie Jones; daughter, Laura (Bubba) Taylor, sons, Mike Jones and Timmy (Rebecca) Jones; adopted children, Linda (John) Phelps, Melissa Gregory, Luther (Bud) Jones, Leslie (Terry) Price, Johnny (Wanda) Jones, Crystal (Jimmy) Head; grandchildren, Heavenly (Pookie) Harmse, Drew (Emmie) Taylor, Tavie Jones, Araya Jones, Willow Jones, Trezdyn Jones, Malikye Jones, Oliver Jones, Chrissa Jones, Hunter Jones, Paige Phelps, Angel Elmore, Wilbert Gregory, Harlie Garland, Jose Jones, Alex Jones, Oaklynn Ross and Dalton (Mariah) Ross; great-grandchildren, Max Harmse and Anthony “Tony” Harmse; brothers, Alex (Faye) Jones, Harold (Judy) Jones, many nieces and nephews, and very special friends, Jimmy Head, Boone Perry and Jerry and Anna Mae Shelton.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 6th 2025 at Pleasant Knob Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 7th 2025 at the church with Bro. Tyler Longsworth officiating and Bro. Boone Perry reading the obituary. Burial will follow in the Bryant Cemetery in Parkers Lake.
