In Loving Memory of Curtis Cook

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Curtis Cook, a devoted husband, loving father, and kind soul, who left us peacefully on October 2, 2025, at the age of 71.

Born on June 20, 1954, Curtis was a man of unwavering integrity, boundless generosity, and quiet strength. He dedicated his life to his family and to hard honest work, values he upheld with pride throughout his life.

For 44 years, Curtis worked for Hinkle Contracting, where he was more than just a valued employee, his coworkers became like family. His dedication, loyalty, and tireless work ethic earned him the respect of all who knew him. He took pride in his work and the relationships he built along the way.

He was married to the love of his life, Tina for 51 years, a union rooted in love, respect, and unwavering commitment. Together, they built a life full of cherished memories, laughter, and enduring love.

A hardworking man by nature, Curtis provided not only with his hands but with his heart. His kindness touched everyone he met, whether through a helping hand, a thoughtful word, or simply his steady presence.

He is preceded in death by his father William McKinley Cook, mother Mary Branscum Cook. Sisters, Wanda Hair, Lena Wells, Doris Meece, Eva Church, Euetta Cook, and a brother Floyd Cook.  

He leaves behind his wife Tina Cook, children Leroy Cook (and Sandra), Mary Poynter (and Bub), grandchildren, Amber Lewis (and Josh), Rose Foster (Richard), Courtney Cook, Christina Krueger, great grandchildren, Mason Baker, Kayleigh Lewis, Isabella Foster, Adam Murphy, Shelby Napier, Austin Napier all of whom will continue to carry his legacy in their hearts.

Curtis Cook’s life was a blessing, his memory a treasure. He was loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday October 7th 5-8pm and continue Wednesday October 8th beginning at 9am funeral services at 11am at Southern Oaks Funeral Home, followed by burial at Pine Thicket Cemetery. Brother Tim Renner officiating.
