Kent I. Thomas, age 74, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Kent was born on October 17, 1950 to the late Herschel Thomas and Marion Wilson Thomas in Pomona, California.
He was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. He was a talented bass guitar player, he enjoyed playing and singing at different churches. He enjoyed riding dirt bikes and camping in the desert, fishing, traveling on cruises with his wife, making others laugh, was a wonderful artist and mechanically minded. He especially loved being a husband, father and grandfather.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel and Marion Thomas, brothers Art Thomas and Wayne Thomas.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Rachel Thomas, sons Mathew A. Saylor (Amanda) of Somerset, Ky and Marshal O. Thomas of CA; cousin, Art “Butch” Wilson (Sherry) of CO; grandchildren Aiden P. Thomas, Nevaeh Saylor, Baley Gretzner, Dakota Saylor.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 2pm-3pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a Memorial service to be held at 3pm with Bro. Alan Fisher officiating. Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Kent I. Thomas.
