Gloria Jean (Jenny) Smiley, age 75 of Bronston, Kentucky, passed from this life on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 7, 1949 to Andrew Hays and Ora Marie Smiley.
Jenny was a homemaker. She loved to garden, listen to the radio, read, do word search books and put puzzles together. She loved animals, especially her cats. She was of the Baptist faith.
Jenny is survived by her sister Mary (and James) Hardwick of Bronston. Nieces, Maria (and Tim) Hughes of Bronston, Virginia (and Michael Owens) Hardwick of Bronston, Nephews: James Hardwick Jr. of Palestine, WV and Raymond (and Melinda Alton) Hardwick of Burnside, Ky. Great-nieces, Nikki (and Ross) Hampton of Nancy, Ky, Amber (and Donald) Price of Burnside, Ky, and Grace Owens of Bronston. Great-nephews, Troy (and Autumn) Craft of WV, James (Jaime) Fisher of Bronston, and Dakota Alton of Burnside, Ky. Plus great-great nieces and nephews. Special friends, Maxine Bolin and Kathy Pruitt of Somerset, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Ora Smiley. Nieces Mary Hittle and Melinda Fisher, and Great-nephew Gabe Owens.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at 11am in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12pm.
Burial will follow in White Lily Cemetery in Mt. Victory, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
