Donald “Donnie” Ray Brake age 66, of Burnside, Kentucky, he went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, September 16, 2025.
Donnie was born on April 4, 1959 to the late Haskel Brake and Emma Jean Guffey Brake in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was a 33rd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and served as Master Secretary for both Lodge #634 Burnside and Lodge #643 Freedom. He was also the Secretary of Point Isabel Lodge #582 and the Eastern Star, Ky Colonel, Burnside Eagle Scout, leader and member of Burnside Troop 81 for several years, volunteer and member of Burnside Resource Center. He worked at a camera shop and was a photographer. He helped with the March of Dimes and Christmas Shoe Boxes.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Haskel and Emma Jean Brake.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his brothers Gerald (Betsy) Brake and Billy (Vicki) Brake, nephews: Matthew (Jessica), Jeremy (Rosalena), Justin (Tosha), Jason (Julia), great-nephews: Elijah and Nikolai Brake, great-nieces: Kaylee (Caeth) Garner, Kaydence Hatfield, Lyla Brake, Kenzi Brake, Eleanor Brake, Isabella Brake and Lucia Brake. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025 from 5pm-7pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a Masonic Service to be held at 7pm with visitation will continue after.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at 2pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David Gambrel officiating. Burial will follow in Burnside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Donald Ray Brake Memorial Fund.
