Mary Lee Edwards age 72, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Mary was born on February 13, 1953 to the late Everett Simpson and Flonnie Rednour Simpson in Delta, Kentucky.

She was a member of Parkers Mill Baptist Church and Parkers Mill Baptist Church Choir. She enjoyed going to church, the beach, cruises and spending time with her family and friends. She was a retired supervisor at Oakwood.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Flonnie Simpson, brother Kenny Wayne Simpson, brothers-in-law: Melton Jones and Billy Joe Lawhorn, and nephew Jeffery Simpson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her brothers: Dewey Simpson of Shopville, Ky and Donnie Simpson of London, Ky; sisters: Norma Dick (Michael), Phyllis Jones, and Linda Simpson (Bryan Kennedy) all of Somerset, Ky, best friends: Sandy Stringer Dick of Science Hill, Ky and Eddie Calhoun of Somerset, Ky; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other friends.  

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2025 from 12pm to 1pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 1pm with Bro. Larry Simpson and Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery in Kidder, Kentucky.
