Larry “Cowboy” Dale Nicholas, age 70 of Bronston, Kentucky, passed from this life on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
He was born on June 29, 1955 in Somerset, Kentucky, son of the late Luther Terry and Myrtle Thompson Nicholas.
He was a farmer and enjoyed going to car shows, spending time outdoors, piddling with old cars and talking on his CB where he was best known as “Cowboy”. His 1970 GMC was his favorite pickup truck.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Homer Nicholas and nephew, Dwight Troxtell.
He is survived by a brother, Arthur (Neva) Troxtell of Bronston; two nieces, Sheila Troxtell and Lisa Troxtell; great nephew, Isaac Troxtell; and a host of family and friends.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 12:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Adam Evans officiating. Burial will be in Liberty “Kidder” Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests that’s donations be made to the Larry “Cowboy” Dale Nicholas Memorial Fund.
