William Richard “Rick” Stringer, age 67, of Nancy, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, December 12, 2022 at his home.
Rick was born on November 28, 1955 to William F. Stringer and Glenda Ruth Girdler McQueen in Somerset, Kentucky.
He was a member of Chesterview Baptist Church and he enjoyed NASCAR racing, canning, cooking chili supper for friends and family. Going to the beach with his wife. He loved spending time with his family and friends, children and grandchildren.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Sherry Lynn Stringer and Kathy Bear and stepfather, Jackie McQueen.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Judith Griffin Stringer, daughter, Melissa Stringer (Mark) Alexander of Beattyville, Ky; Rebecca Stringer of Somerset, Ky; stepson, Adam (Miranda) Brown of Eubank, Ky; stepdaughter, Serena Cundiff of Somerset, Ky; sisters, Beverly (Jimmy) Mitchell of Somerset, Ky; Tina Baker of Somerset, Ky; brother, Jeff (Angie) Stringer of Louisville, Ky; 14 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren along with many, family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 6 to 9 P.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11 A.M. at the funeral home with Bro. Justin Blosser and Br. Norman Harper officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Mark Alexander, Jaye Mitchell, Shane Wilson, Jeff Stringer, Karter Alexander, Tyler Burton, Adam Brown, Christian Cundiff, Sebastian Cundiff, Gary Epperson and John Swanson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

You will be missed. Your passing leaves a hole in the heart of your friends and family.
My love to you, Judy. I have so many memories of looking out the kitchen window to see both our husbands sitting side by side, each on their riding mowers taking a break to chat. Or sneaking up behind Rick while they sat around the fire to tickle his neck and scare him. Maybe they are together now, catching up on old times! Love you Judy! ❤
Yes very good memories of seeing Bob and Rick being good buddies. And you would scare him every time and he would tell me “ that Peg scared me to death” ❤️Love you too Peg
