Ray Cooper age 86 of Somerset, KY passed away on Wednesday June 3, 2015 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY.

He was born on December 13, 1928 in Pulaski Co. KY to the late Preston and Maggie Phelps Cooper.

Ray was a member of Ferguson Baptist Church. He was a retired self-employed service station owner and loved mowing his yard and gardening. He also loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Maggie Cooper; one son, Grant Cooper and three brothers, Paul Cooper, Elmer Cooper and Roy Cooper; three sisters-in-law, Ann Cooper, Jean Cooper and Ann Cooper.

He is survived by his wife, Edith Cooper of Somerset, KY; a daughter, Helen Jean (Greg) Raub of Canton, OH; three stepsons, Herb (Brenda) Ping of Washburn, TN, Eddie Bill (Janie) Ping of Ferguson, KY and Brad (Pam) Ping of Somerset, KY; three brothers, Frankie (Louise) Cooper, Thurman Cooper and Stanley Cooper. Also survived by one grandchild, twelve step- grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, eighteen step-great-grandchildren; one great-great step-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Cooper and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday June 8, 2015 after 6 PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday June 9, 2015 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Clyde Strunk and Herb Ping officiating.

Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
