Theodore J. Turner, age 82, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on March 10, 1934 in Danville, KY to the late Gerald and Christine Schleinker. Theodore loved to fish, go to yardsales, playing bingo and going to Walmart everyday, where everyone there knew him by name. He was a retired painter for the state of Ohio and also a Veteran of the Unites States Air Force.

Theodore is survived by his wife, Veronica Turner; four sons, Theodore “Ted” (and Sharon) Turner Jr., of Sarasota, Florida, Joseph “Joe” Turner, Thomas “Tommy” Turner and Matthew “Matt” Turner, all of Somerset; one daughter, Lorraine Hogue, Somerset; two sisters, Betty McVey, of Springdale, Ohio and Georgia (and Jimmy) Ruch, of Cincinnati, Ohio; eleven grandchildren, three that he was close to, Cheryl, Jessica and Angela; eleven great-grandchildren, two that he was also close to, Hayden and Taylor.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Joseph Turner and two sisters, Dorothy Jeffers and Wanda Turner.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2017 after 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with funeral services to follow at 12:00 P.M. with Bro. Harold Harris officiating.

Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery, with full Military Honors to be conducted by American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice Of Lake Cumberland.
