Earl Rader, age 78, of Somerset, passed from this life on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

Earl was born on May 22, 1938, son of the late Ballard and Edith Barnes Rader. He worked for Chrysler Corporation for thirty-one years. Earl enjoyed fishing, woodworking and cooking. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Somerset.

He is survived by his wife, Joann Calder Rader; his sons, Paul (Renee) Rader of Crossville, Tn., Stephen Rader of Dayton, Ohio, Terry M. (Yvonne) Rader of Miamisburg, Ohio, Jerry M. Rader of Dayton, Ohio, and Gary Phelps of Somerset; his daughters, Kathy (Jim) Grissom of Forney, Texas and Kim (Mark) Wesley of Science Hill; his sisters, Thelma (Wayne) Harding of Mt. Vernon, Bet (Harold) Wilder of Springfield, Ohio, Geraldine (Lonnie) Reppert of Berea, and Mary (Greg) Pierce of Crossett, Arkansas. Earl is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, David Rader, Ballard C. Rader, Jr., and Roy Lee Rader; his sister, Louise Philbeck.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 25, 2016 after 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Masonic Services are being conducted by the Woodstock Masonic Lodge #639 on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. French Harmon, Bro. Wayne Harding and Mark Wesley officiating. Burial will follow in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
