Herman Dell Coomer, age 74, of Burnside, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Herman was born on March 15, 1942, in Tateville, son of the late Thomas and Grace Bray Coomer. Herman was a veteran, serving his country in the United States Army Infantry Division. He enjoyed riding motorcycles. Herman was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Gerlack Coomer; his son, Joe (and wife, Debbie) Coomer, of Tateville; his daughters, Valerie Ann (and husband, Dave) Stevens, of Somerset, Alta Coomer McKee (and Jeffery Young), of Burnside, and Bonnie (and husband, Yosi) Hazan, of Florida; his sisters, Donna, Goldie and Laura Jean; his fifteen grandchildren; and his nine great-grandchildren.
Preceding Herman in death are his parents.
Visitation will be on Saturday, October 1, 2016, at 2:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will follow the visitation on Saturday, at 5:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Clyde Strunk officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Herman Dell Coomer Memorial Fund, C/O Southern Oaks Funeral Home, 2110 West Highway 914, Somerset, KY 42503.
