Mark Douglas Fox, age 59, of Somerset, tragically passed from this life on Saturday, September 10, 2016.

Mark was born on November 25, 1957, in Indianapolis, son of Wesley Marcus and Lena Ann Fox.  He was a member of the Nancy High School Class of 1975. Mark started avid participation in tractor pulls, as a hobby, building his own pulling tractors, in the late 1970’s.  On September 1, 2002, he married Teri Lynn Guffey, in Gatlinburg. Mark’s life’s work was agriculture; he was the owner and operator of Fox Farms.  He was a self-made man, known for his hard work and his leadership in the community.  Mark was involved in several local boards.  He enjoyed mechanic work.  Mark was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church #2, of Nancy, and attended Oak Hill Baptist Church.  He could always be seen in company of one of his beloved border collies.

He is survived by his father, Wesley Fox; his wife, Teri Fox; his son, Jonathan Fox, of Nancy; his daughter, Amanda Lynn (and husband, Greg) Burchett, of Russell Springs; his brother, Tim Fox, of Nancy; his sisters, Wanda Robertson, of Somerset, and Melissa (and husband, Leslie) Grant, of Nancy; and his grandson, Titus Burchett.

Preceding Mark in death is his mother, Lena Ann Fox.

Visitation will be Wednesday, September 14, 2016, after 5:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Gary Phelps and Bro. Joseph Warren officiating.  Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tim Fox, Jonathan Fox, Wayne Smith, Donnie Smith, Ottis Morgan, Bruce Shepherd, Bryan Gover and Lewis Tarter.
