Mrs. Ina Jean Towery, age 89, widow of Raymond Kenneth Towery, of Mount Vernon, Kentucky passed from this life to her eternal reward on Friday, July 28, 2017 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born in Conway, Kentucky, daughter of the late Elden Felix Brown and Pattie Pearl Hayes Brown.  Jean as she was affectionately called by those who knew her was united in marriage to the late Raymond Towery on March 22, 1945 in Snyder, Kentucky.  She was a retired Life Insurance agent for Woodmen of the World for over 25 years, where she received multiple awards during her years of dedicated service.  Mrs. Towery was a member of the Wildie Christian Church in Wildie Kentucky, where she served as Sunday School Teacher for a number of years and was a member of the Daily Witness Sunday School Class.  She served as an officer of the Mount Vernon High School Association and was a former treasurer of the Daughters of the American Revolution of Rockcastle County.  She was a loving mother and will be sadly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, and Husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers; Lonnie Brown and Homer Brown.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her sons; Gary and his wife (Anne) Towery of Greenbrae, California and Stephen and his wife (Donna) Towery of Phenix City, Alabama, her daughter; Patti and her husband (Harold) Isaacs of Somerset, and her grandchildren; Iris Towery, Rebekah (Justin) Hundley, Laban Towery, Adam Towery, Jonathan Towery and Ellory Isaacs and a great-grandchild; Savannah Hundley along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the Wildie Christian Church in Wildie, Kentucky with the Funeral Service immediately following at 2:00 O’clock p.m. at the Church. Interment will be in the Berea Cemetery, in Berea, Kentucky.
