Richard B. Taylor, husband of Hazel Taylor, age 73, of Bronston, passed from this life on Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset.  

He was born on December 1, 1943 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late William and Edna Kirk Taylor.  Richard was a self-employed truck driver and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He was a “good-hearted” man and was always willing to help others.  He took pride in his work as a maintenance man at the Cumberland Manor Apartment Complex.  Richard was of the Pentecostal Faith.  

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers; Robert and Danny Taylor and his sisters; Bonnie James and Donna Taylor.

Richard leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife; Hazel White Taylor, his sons; Maddox Taylor, Timothy Taylor of Ohio, Richard and (Laura) Taylor, Christopher Taylor, Tim Proffitt, and Hargis Proffitt, Jr. all of Somerset and Bryan Taylor of Oklahoma, his daughters; Tonya Taylor, and Laura Taylor of Ohio and Sherry Proffitt of Somerset, along with his sister; Judy Hoover, fifteen grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends. 

Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with the Funeral Service following at 2:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ed. Amundson officiating.  Interment will be in the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
