Mr. Roy Albert Turner, age 79, of Somerset, passed from this life on Saturday, May 06, 2017 at Somerset Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Somerset after an extended illness.
He was born on September 13, 1938 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Earl and Stella Brown Turner. Roy was a retired Sandblaster with Harrison Steel and Casting Company of Indiana. He was united in marriage to the late Betty Sue Bell who preceded him in death on August 1, 2008. He was member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church of Monticello, Kentucky. Roy enjoyed fishing and spending time with his brother Robert who was his primary caregiver.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter; Mary Ann Turner, Sisters;
Betty Lou Graves, Carlene Francis Dale and Helen June Armata, Brothers; Frank Turner and Cecil Turner
Roy is survived by his sons; James Stewart Turner, Albert Richard Turner, and Billy Joe Turner all of Lafayette, Indiana, daughters; Ruth Ann Turner of Franklin, Indiana and Cathy Sue Grey of Lafayette, Indiana. Seven brothers; William Ray Turner, Vernon Turner, Gene Turner, Johnny Wendell Turner and James Mitchell Turner all of Monticello, Kentucky, Perry Dean Turner of Attica, Indiana and Robert Turner of Somerset, Kentucky. A sister; Anna Marie Turner of Campbellsville, Kentucky, several grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
In accordance with Mr. Turner’s wishes he was cremated on Monday, May 08, 2017 and a graveside memorial service will be on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. in the Rose Garden of Southern Oaks Cemetery with Bro. Jamie Taylor Officiating.
