Paul Matthew Green, age 77, Science Hill, Ky., passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at his residence.

He was born on August 16, 1939 in Ft. Pierce, Fla., son of the late Jackson and Ruby Wildman Green.

Paul was a man of his word. A good friend, loyal companion, attentive husband, and loved all dogs and small children. He had a keen sense of humor, strong beliefs and loved his country and was a Veteran of the United States Navy. Over the years this entrepreneur was a Law Enforcement Officer, baseball coach, fisherman, pool shark, sailor, and he met Elvis.

He is survived by his wife, Mavis, of fifty-five years; three sons, Michael Green, of Indiana, Oregon (Sandy) Green, of Ohio, and David Green of Texas; his best friend, Reed Bell and Lisa Bell; his daughters, Lisa Barrish, of Somerset, and Marchelle (Roger) Simpson, of London; his brothers, Jack Green, of Fla., George (Nancy) Green, and Eddie Green, both of Alabama; a sister, Christine Rossi, of South Carolina. Paul is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-grandchild on the way.

His was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Susan Maiman.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 beginning at 12:00 P.M. with Funeral Services to follow at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Wright officiating.

Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
