Flonnie E. Silvers, age 99, of Somerset, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center.

Flonnie was born on July 6, 1917, in the Hale Community of Pulaski County, daughter of the late Mitt and Rettie Hines Hale.  She was a homemaker who loved her family dearly.  She loved flower and vegetable gardening.  Flonnie was a charter member of Wesley’s Chapel Church.

She is survived by her son, Doug (and wife, Judy) Silvers, of the Oak Hill Community; her grandchildren, Dexter Silvers and Leslie (and husband, Brandon) Cummins; her great-granddaughter, Carley Cummins; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Flonnie is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Alvin D. Silvers; her brothers, Bennie Hale, Willie Hale, Dault Hale, Carroll Hale and Howard Hale; and her sisters, Mary Hale, Gertie Bradley and Dorothy Catron.

Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2016, at 12:00 noon, in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will follow the visitation, on Friday, at 1:00 p.m., in the funeral home chapel.  Burial will be in the Malvin Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Malvin Hill Cemetery Fund or to the Wesley’s Chapel Cemetery Fund.
