Oley Williams Jr., 64, of Somerset, Ky., passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at his residence.

Oley was born on April 18, 1952, in Hazard Ky., to the late Oley Williams Sr. (Molly Williams) and the late Elizabeth Ball. He was the husband of Gwenda Williams, whom he married on December 16, 1978, at Grace Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. Oley worked at Wal-Mart for 13 years before retiring. Oley enjoyed working at his booth at Lake Cumberland Flea Market and watching westerns with his dog Tucker. He also enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren’s activities.

Surviving Oley is his wife; four children, Shawna Whitis (Michael) of Somerset, Ben Williams (Marla) of Nancy, Scott Williams (Kathrine) of Russell Springs, and Greta Kay Roberts (Jason) of Somerset; six grandchildren, Christian Whitis, Ethan Whitis, Natalee Williams, Mallory Williams, Briley Williams, and Ravyn Whitis; sisters, Ola Stephenson (David) of Bradenton, Fl and Geneva Boggs (Willie) of Smilax, KY;  brothers, Ben Williams of Texas, Kenneth Williams (Kay) of Smilax, KY, and Don Williams of Smilax, Ky.

Oley was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters; Elsie Wells, Eula Wells, Sancie Bowling, and Dorcas Williams, and a brother Jack Williams.

Visitation will be held on Friday September 30, 2016 after 2:30 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, at 4:30 p.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. David Muse officiating.  Burial will be in Southern Oaks Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or to the American Cancer Society of Pulaski County.
